So I finally came to London. And what a city. I am completely head over heals.
Being a hard-working woman and all, the weekends are spent on touristing in my new city. Well, I am not overdoing it - one thing at a time. Last Saturday, I visited the Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill. Too many other tourists chose to do the same on the excact same time at the excact same day as we did, very strange, so I didn’t get to take any photos - who wants to look at pictures of other people?
Yesterday, on the other hand, was a bit more exciting! We decided to take a ride in London Eye, which, apparently, is one of my neighbours together with Big Ben and Westminster Palace. Well, I knew they weren’t situated too far away from my little flat, but the fact that it actually only took me 15 minutes getting there by feet was a little surprising for me. These buildings are so beautiful, and I took at least 30 photos of Big Ben.
The trip in London Eye was spectacular. With a diametre of 135 metres, the whole ride took 30 minutes. 30 minutes of the most amazing view of the whole city of London. I can go on about how amazed I was, so if you want me to specify my feelings even more, give me a call.

My neighbours Ben, WP, and I.

Almost at the top!

I’m not scared. At all.

Look at the space ships we were in!

Some other buildings, now from the top of the wheel. WOW

Yes, I know, it could as well have been a post about a Harry Potter movie!
Yesterday, the Embassy offered me a room in an appartment, or flat as the English say, which I will be sharing with two other interns. I was rather surprised that I am actually going to be living in the middle of everything! The flat lies two tube stops from the Embassy, and three stops from Piccadilly Circus. I could go on with examples of how close I am to everything—instead you can have a look for yourself at the tube map link below.
The closest stop to my future residence, is called Pimlico.
As the title of the post already has implied, the building is called Hogarth House and lies on Erasmus Street. Isn’t it a cute address?
I look forward to welcoming you to London, should you decide to visit me!

Last week, I got two phone calls that instantly changed my future plans as from two months from now.
VisitDenmark in the London office, offered me a trainee position in the PR & Press department from February 2008, and two days later, I was offered an internship at the Royal Danish Embassy in the Trade Council, also in London, from August 2007. Both of them lasting half a year results in me spending the next year of my life in the beautiful, and not rainy at all, capital of the United Kingdom.
That is why I suddenly decided to establish a weblog, allowing everyone interested to follow my everyday life with the British, well illustrated with photos taken by my cute pink Sony cam. I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you!
Keep in touch.
